THE INTER-AMERICAN COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS
DECIDES:
1. To declare the petition admissible with respect to the alleged violations, with prejudice to
Valentina Rosendo Cantú, of the rights protected by Articles 5(1), 7, 8(1), 11, 19 and 25 of the
American Convention, in connection with the general duties provided for by Article 1(1) of said
treaty, and of Articles 7 of the Convention of Belém do Pará and 1, 6, and 8 of the InterAmerican Convention to Prevent and Punish Torture.
2. To notify the parties of this decision.
3. To continue with the analysis of the merits of the case, and
4. To publish this decision and include it in its Annual Report to the General Assembly of the
OAS.
