The request for provisional measures was filed within the context of a complaint that the Inter-American Commission declared admissible for the torture and forced disappearance of Ivan Eladio Torres. The Inter-American Court has granted provisional measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity of his mother and other relatives, witnesses, relatives of witnesses, and the lawyers of the case. The Inter-American Court ordered the State to plan and implement the provisional measures with the participation of the beneficiaries.
