Case- Summary
The facts of the case concern the kidnapping and forced disappearance of Anatole and Victoria ¬–of four years old and 16 months old respectively–, which took place in September 1976 during a military operation at the family house in San Martín, Buenos Aires province. Both were taken with their mother to the clandestine center of detention known as “Automotores Orletti”, and later unlawfully transferred to Montevideo to a clandestine center belonging to Uruguay’s Defense Intelligence Service. A few months later, they were taken to Chile and abandoned at a public plaza in Valparaíso, where they were sent to an orphanage and finally turned over to the custody of a married couple without any ties with the repressive apparatus.
