other persons, among whom was Mr. Fernando Arturo López-Antillón (supra Having
seen paragraph 1).
4.
That Mr. Fernando Arturo López-Antillón requested that the provisional
measures adopted in his favor be rescinded, since he was no longer working for the
FAFG (supra Having seen paragraph 2).
5.
That the Inter-American Commission did not submit any observations to the
request to rescind provisional measures adopted in favor of Mr. Fernando Arturo
López-Antillón (supra Having seen paragraph 4).
6.
That the Court deemed it necessary to adopt provisional measures in favor of
FAFG members in view of the threats they have received in relation to the work
performed by the Foundation concerning the identification and recovery of human
remains. Due to the fact that Mr. Fernando Arturo López-Antillón’s work relationship
with the FAFG has ceased to exist, and in light of the request filed directly by said
beneficiary, this President deems it unnecessary to maintain the provisional
measures ordered in his favor by the Tribunal.
THEREFORE:
THE PRESIDENT OF THE INTER-AMERICAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS,
in exercise of the authority conferred on him by Article 63(2) of the American
Convention on Human Rights and Article 25 of the Court’s Rules of Procedure, and in
consultation with the Judges of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights,
DECIDES:
1.
To rescind the provisional measures adopted pursuant to the Order of the
Inter-American Court of Human Rights of July 4, 2006 in favor of Mr. Fernando
Arturo López-Antillón.
2.
To request the Secretariat of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights to
give notice of this Order to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the
representatives of the beneficiaries and the State of Guatemala.
