The facts of the petition refer to the life, personal integrity and staying on lands collectively titled to members of the afro-descendant community known as the “Community Council of Jiguamiandó and families of Curbadaró”.

Members of these communities were affected by death threats, the destruction of assets, looting, harassment, murders, and disappearances.
