The facts of the case concern the freedom of expression of shareholders, directors and journalists of the channel “Radio Caracas Television”, whose license was not renewed by the State due to the editorial position the media outlet took during the events of April 2002 in Venezuela.

The Inter-American Court developed standards on freedom of expression and its relationship to radio broadcasting, as well as to the guarantee of non-discrimination.
