The petition for protection for Mr. Mauricio Herrera Ulloa and Mr. Fernán Vargas Rohrmoser - journalist and legal representative of the newspaper "La Nación" of Costa Rica, respectively – concerns the right to freedom of expression and the need to suspend the execution of the conviction - and the subsequent withdrawal of Mr. Herrera Ulloa name from the Judicial Register of Offenders - until the case were resolved by the inter-American human rights system.
