The facts of the case concern the forced disappearances (and impunity surrounding these incidents) of Wilfredo Terrones Silva, Teresa Díaz Aparicio, Santiago Antezana Cueto, Néstor Rojas Medina and Cory Clodolia Tenicela Tello. These disappeareances took place between 1984 and 1992, within a pattern of systematic forced disappearances of people believed to be linked to terrorism.

In its sentence, the IA Court applied standards on forced disappearance and the right to truth, and it examined the obligation of the State to guarantee due diligence within a reasonable time with regards to the investigation of the facts.
