Rules that the State of Guatemala must conduct a genuine and effective
investigation to determine the persons responsible for the human rights violations
referred to in this Judgment and, where appropriate, punish them.

Rules that the State of Guatemala is obliged to make reparation for the
consequences of the declared violations and pay fair compensation to the victims and,
where appropriate, to their next of kin.

8.
Orders the initiation of the reparations phase and entrusts the pertinent action
to its President.
