The facts of the case concern the illegal arrest, torture and forced disappearance suffered by José Carlos Trujillo Oroza during 1972, as well as the impossibility of his family members denouncing the events at a local level as a result of political unrest and the successive military coups which occurred in the country.
In the case, the State recognized the events as well as international responsibility and the juridical consequences deriving from this. This acknowledgement was accepted by the IA Court.
