The request for protection refers to threats and attacks suffered by the members of the Dominican-Haitian Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Dominico-Haitiano, CCDH) and some of their relatives for their work as human rights defenders involved in monitoring compliance with the the Inter-American Court’s sentence in the Nadege Dorzema case and the Constitutional Court’s decision (TC/0168) that revoked the Dominican nationality of all persons of Haitian origin who could not prove the legal entry of their parents at the time of their birth.

The Inter-American Court dismissed the request because it considered that it did not meet the requirements established by the American Convention.
