274. The Court has developed in its case law the concept of pecuniary damages and
the assumptions that give rise to compensate them. The Court has established that
pecuniary damages presuppose “the loss of or the detriment to the income of the victims,
the expenses incurred as a result of the facts, and the monetary consequences that have
a causal nexus with the facts of the sub judice case.”294 It has pointed out, moreover,
that non-pecuniary damages can include “the suffering and afflictions caused to the
direct victims and their relatives, detriment to values that are very significant for
individuals, as well as non-monetary alterations in the conditions of existence of the
victim or the victim’s family.”295
275. As to pecuniary damages, the representative did not confirm specific
disbursements, related to the search for justice and/or the whereabouts of the
disappeared persons, made by the next of kin of Mr. González González, Mr. Tassino
